We have big news for you… our app is now fully available in Spanish and Catalan!
But wait a second, we’re not talking about some basic AI or externalised translation here, absolutely not. Our Spanish and Catalan team have been working hard to ensure the full nativeness of the app’s experience, from the first login to your daily crypto trading, making sure every word feels right and natural. Cherry on the top, we’re also starting to publish content on socials (and soon the blog as well) in both languages.
We’re very proud of this achievement and thrilled to be able to announce it today. Oh, and by the way, we’re the first crypto app to operate in Catalan!
The First Crypto App in Catalan
As a Barcelona-based startup, it has always been one of our goals to give the local community a fully native app that feels like home. But this is more than just Barcelona, and even Catalonia. There are nearly 10 million Catalan speakers in Europe (to give you an idea, it’s more than Serbian and almost as much as Portuguese). People also speak Catalan in Andorra, the Balearic Islands, the Valencian region, Eastern Aragon, and even some parts of France and Italy. And yet, no crypto platform was serving this language until now.
On top of that, Spain’s attractiveness toward crypto is increasingly evolving over time, even more recently. And Catalonia is one of the most crypto friendly regions in the country, with 1 in 5 local people using crypto. So yeah it was about time!
Local People and Local Vibes
Venga’s team is international yes but almost a third of us are Catalan, including our CTO, Raul Arribas:

And this localisation approach has been directly coming from our CEO, Michael Stroev, as he puts it:

To enjoy Venga in Spanish or Catalan, simply:
- Open the app
- Go to Settings > Language
- And choose your preferred language (Català, English, Español)
